What is Prosthetics?
Prosthetics is the fabrication and clinical fitting of a prosthesis
A Prosthesis is an artificial substitute part supplied to remedy a deficiency eg; a false leg, arm etc., and is fitted by a Prosthetist.
A Prosthetist is a Health Care Professional, responsible for the care of individuals with limb loss either acquired through amputation or because of congenital problems.
Thane Prosthetics
Thane Prosthetics was established in the UK in the early 1990s to provide Prosthetic and Rehabilitation services for the Isle of Man Government. We also carried out extensive locum cover to NHS centres throughout the UK and offered Expert Witness Services to the Court. Whilst still under the name of Thane Prosthetics, Malcolm Thane now operates as an independent consultant Prosthetist resident in Cyprus.
Malcolm works in close partnership with an Orthotic workshop in Limassol, but is also well supported by world wide partners to provide product and services as required.

Components prescribed are supplied by manufacturers from around the world and are backed by Clinical Assessment and Evaluation
Clinical procedures are undertaken honestly and based on Best Practice Guide Lines. Prescriptions are appropriate ie; to fulfil the requirements of the amputee but ONLY within the ability of the amputee NOT on a cost/profit basis.
